Sander Hergarten berichtet:

"As a reward for completing the Cambridge English exam, the participating tenth-graders went on a one-day trip to the city of Cambridge. After a one-hour flight from Cologne/Bonn Airport to Stansted Airport, we took the train to Cambridge. There, we first walked towards the city centre, stopping at Downing College, one of the 31 colleges and the one Miss Bootmann knew most about since she studied there for a year. After we had tried the (in)famous English breakfast, we had some time to explore the city for ourselves. The city of Cambridge is beautiful with its ancient and timeless constructions. In the centre is a marketplace selling fruit, vegetables, clothes and all the other things you would expect from a market. At around 3pm, we met up again to go on a punting (boat) tour on the River Cam. The punter talked about the history of the colleges on the banks of the river and about Cambridge University in general, which was really interesting because the history and architecture of Cambridge University is centuries old and has influenced a lot of our modern world. So when (after a short run across the city) we got back on the train, we all felt happy and much, much wiser than when we had left Cologne in the morning."
